Dublin City Manager Megan O’Callaghan is pleased to announce the City’s $44.6 million acquisition of 243 acres in the West Innovation District, including SportsOhio, Shepherd Excavating, and Carter Farms. This strategic purchase enhances Dublin’s economic development, transportation infrastructure, and recreational facilities.
The acquisition paves the way for completing University Boulevard, improving connectivity and creating new opportunities for development. Dublin also aims to strengthen its position as a top sports destination by expanding athletic facilities at Darree Fields and SportsOhio.
SportsOhio will continue managing its facilities for one year during the transition to municipal oversight. Shepherd Excavating will lease back its land for up to four years, while Carter Farms provides long-term potential for economic growth and transportation initiatives, including a possible passenger rail station.
