They were established in 1967 to connect the collections of 54 Ohio college and university libraries through computers so they could share work and resources. However\, they are a very different global company today. Chip will share how OCLC has continued to grow and innovate. \n\n\n\nAbout our Speaker:\n\nChip originally joined OCLC in 1994 as a member of the FirstSearch team. In his career with OCLC\, he has managed OCLC reference and interlibrary loan services and has led a variety of new product planning efforts\, including WorldCat.org\, QuestionPoint and WorldCat Local. Chip became Vice President of Business Development in 2007. In this role\, Chip and his team manage OCLC's data services division\, its inbound content licensing program\, and its commercial partnerships with publishers\, consumer Web sites and library service providers. He joined Membership and Research as Vice President in 2022\, supporting OCLC's efforts to engage member libraries and develop research to expand library learning\, innovation\, and collaboration. Chip's work across OCLC supports efforts to increase the efficiency and impact of libraries for the communities they serve.\n\n\n\nAn informative conversation with lunch - all for $38!
